According to my prints (1994 9000 Aero), you should find the signal you need on a blue wire that runs into pin 2 of the instrument cluster or pin 58 of your ECM.

There are insulation piercing probes that you can use to check the wire for the signal before you cut into it. I would definitely recommend doing that before altering the integrity of that wire.

Did you get your Air/Fuel hooked up ok?

I have a Mitchell repair manual on CDROM. It includes all the wiring diagrams. Check E-bay. It has been well worth the $15 i spent on it.
