Got the first parts refresh box in for the new SportCombi. Still tracking down a new left hand motor mount though to replace all 4 engine mounts together.

New mounts
6 new coil packs and plugs + upper intake manifold gasket
1 new fuel pressure sensor at the fuel rail.

BTW, if you end up needing to change the fuel rail pressure sensor just find the Bosch part and order that vice the one on any of the current Saab parts site. For some reason they are asking on average $400 for this one sensor when it can be picked up for $30-$40 else where.

Changing the fuel pressure sensor at the rail to work through a P0089 code for hesitation/misfire while under moderate to heavy load. Don’t have a tech 2 yet to run the diagnostic test of the variable fuel pump but with 3/4 of a tank to burn through still this is easy enough to test out.

Next up will either be the fuel pump or a suspension refresh….and a tech 2 somewhere along the way.

Exciting project! Nice stuff
Yes indeed. Got through the front bank and the FPS tonight and had a marked improvement in lowering the misfires I had noticed occurring. Back half coils and plugs are planned for the weekend.

The mounts have been postponed until the full reverse torx head socket set arrives. If I’m lucky I should hopefully have plates from Florida and be able to drive it again.
Fresh plugs and coils plus the fuel pressure sensor and no more noticeable stumbles at idle. FL plates and registration is on its way so hopefully a little weekend driving under load to confirm it’s up 100% and no need to worry about the pump.

Found the brake PCV check valve line had a previous repair attempt that failed. Surprisingly no codes for excess air. So a quick fix to patch it up tight and seal as best is possible with electrical tape till the new one arrives.
Also have to source a new clip for the EVAP canister connector since it’s loose and not tight.

Hope you'll a have fun and smooth weekend drive!
if you shop esaabparts.com you'd have all these parts in one order for less! They have the mount you need in stock as well as the upgraded vacuum hose with check valves that are same price as the OE hard plastic ones.

That's a good place for parts!
In case you wondered, MDI clone for NG9-3 works. Running with Tech2win and GlobalTIS for security access without any problems.

Doesn’t support pre CANBUS cars though so if you still need that then you’d need a tech 2 or a OBD2 port to usb for Tech2win to work.

Also, the HFV6 GM tool sets are starting to pop up on eBay so I snagged one. Was only missing two tools (a pilot bearing slide puller and connecting rod guide pins) but has everything else needed for water pump, timing chain replacement, valve train/cam shaft work to avoid having to pull timing cover to reset the tensioners. The swivel nut for the in car valve spring compressors go missing but can be ordered from here:3/8-16 Swivel Flange Nut
