So i was driving home from work the other day and i was boostin pretty hard and my brakes seem not to work so well cause there stock obviously and i was going to upgrade them real soon cause i cant stand bad brakes and so i was wondering what kinda aftermarket brake setups you guys have and i was wondering if you recommend me on what kind of brake setup i should do, i was looking at gs's big brake kit for the rear? if i get that would that help out alot since its 400+ dollers lol. but uhh what would guys think i should get for my rear/front. i was looking at GS and i see the brembo rotors are those any good? i know brembo is a good brand for brakes but i dont seem any reviews on it so i bet no one really bought those.. so yeah let me know guys thank you. :D

To me it sounds like he needs to flush the fluid and replace the pads.

You aren't going to get any additional braking power from upgrading rotors unless you get a big brake kit (which is probably not needed here).

The slots are there to vent the gasses that the pads release when heated. Those gasses form a cushion and "lubricate" the pad surface. Same thing as the air cushion setups on some engine machining equipment. Cross drilling has the same effect, but that reduces the ability of the rotor to spread absorb and spread heat. It also makes them more prone to crack.

just to throw my two cents in, i like the EBC slotted and dimpled rotors with Akebono full ceramic pads! no noise, absolutely no dust and amazing stopping force! if it can haul my g/f's big 95 down in a hurry then i am impressed! big difference from stock. a lot of people say to stay away from crossdrilled because of stress fractures at the holes. thats why i went with the dimpled. makes sense to me.

well i have heard that go both ways. people say if they are machined right there should be no problem. others have said that because of the machining your simply putting week points in the rotor where heat and stress can create cracks. it would be interesting to see what some studies of this or tests of the durability would conclude. thats really the only thing that has held me back from crossdrilled. i love the look but unsure of reliability.

I did my break job last summer and did the following:

GS Slotted Brembo Front Rotors
Normal Brembo Rear Rotors
EBC Redstuff Pads all around
Fluid Flush

Difference over old pads was unbelievable and a very good setup.

ive got the EBC front cross drilled and slotted rotors, EBC redstuff pads all around and the stock rear disc. They took a long time to bed in completely, but once they warm up, they have greatly improved power and bite. They also will last a good amount longer compared to regular pads in non track conditions since they are a little harder wearing (hence the longer bed in).
