While I'm Knee deep In customer dailys, & A rustathon With the Hoff. Let me introduce my longtime pal, & fellow Saab/Chrysler mechanic HemiMAN! or Alex the GREEK as i refer to him as. He has been Digging me out of overwhelming time frames for years. Thanks man.

The mystery power steering leak was tracked down to the previous subframe installed discresion of how to torque down or locate the rear trans mount. Basically the mount was torqued down through the steering rack due to mislocation...

srp - I love the FSDs... soft for the highway ride, but stiffer in the corners when you need it.

and yes, Level 10 in NJ. They have experience with the Volvo AW55, same as the Saab - and they will supply the tables for what I want so I can adjust with the tuner for the ECU update.

I've been planning on FSDs and SAS sways for awhile. Thanks for confirming everything I've heard.

Level 10 is right around the corner from me. I had one of their level 2 transmissions in my 86 monte carlo with a high stall converter many years back. If they're as good with the computer controlled ones, it should be indestructible.

You should pickup some deka's if you haven't purchased injectors yet.

Curious why your going maptun instead of one of the many experienced tuners around these parts.

Can't wait to see the final result, and, of course, throw in your ol' td04 into my NG900 ;)

Harvey and Alex are the dream team of technicians of the Saab world, IMO. They haven't let myself or my father down for years, and this just proves it.

that TD04 breathes a good spirit! :)

Good enough, why not I guess? I don't like messing with the compression on the 2.3, its is perfect the way it was designed and takes some messing to get right at lower compression ( I feel you leave some on the table with any lower compression ratios)

You are thinking 340 Hp with the 19t, I am thinking that will be close to that. You will end up with almost exactly my set-up on my 2000. I have 290+/- WHP 335Wtq ( at 13% loss that's 340hp/390tq or so) with nearly the same set-up except a Big T28 vs the TD04 19t which flow nearly identically... and my Hybrid 234/235 brings compression down as well.

Makes for a great drivable set up for sure. I can hang with SRT8 dodge cars all day on the highway

I'm interested to see the difference - the machinist and I had a long chat before the work was done and he was going to focus on a few things - a correction to ensure that the condition that typically caused cylinder 3 to run lean, some tweaks to preserve more HP at the crank, and of course the porting and polishing.

Pretty excited to get this thing back on the road and run it on a dyno.

Huge kudos to Harvey for all of the work he's put in, especially during the hot and humid days.

Thank you sir, So much, I think the most of the new power gains were from the porting of the head, Turbo port match, Tight valve sealing, & polishing of the crank with the balance. And oh Yes What a pleasure it was to work on such a nice car for all of us. Thanks Ross, The whole gang, all 4 of us involved "Alex, Me, Sean, & Bob for support" thoroughly enjoyed working on your SUPER SLEEPER!

Ultimately what I think is great, is that there were no real HP mods except for a minor step up in cams and the port work!
Yes the better pistons will put up with more abuse and the balance work will help with RPM build up and rod bearing life, but neither drastically improve HP gains. Ultimately the port work maximized the small step up in cams!
I like the fact that nothing was changed other a small step up in cams (re-using spark plugs!) to show the gains in maximizing cyl head potential with port work!!
I'm glad you like the results rarelibra!

I absolutely love the results! All this time I have been talking about stepping my tune up from stage 4 (315hp Maptun) to stage 5 (340hp Maptun), however it seems that - as you have mentioned - the engine work has helped maximize the potential of the current tune (in addition to the rest of the components). It is amazing the response... I have to continue to break it in, but the few times I've given it more it is quite an experience to watch how fast the needle moves from 50 to 90!
