I have seen a write up where someone just got a resistor from an electronics store and soldered it there, worked as it should. Maybe you should take out the old one and swing by a good store that sells electronic parts (Radio Shack at least) an see what they have.
Radiator Fan Resister
Does anyone know what makes a good replacement resister for the low speed resister on the radiator fan? This would be for a '97 900S 2.3l N/A manual car.

0.2-0.25 Ohm, 50-75W resistor
