Question about Koni Dampers

I have a '01 Viggen and I want to stiffen up the suspension, but I don't really want the car any lower. In the perfect world I would get the full kit (springs & dampers), but I live in Michigan and there are times when there's a foot of snow on the roads  my front bumper is already enough of a snow plow without lowering springs.

I was wondering if you can safely match Koni dampers with stock springs and get a stiffer feel while keeping a stock-ish ride height? I know people try and use lowering springs with stock dampers for "looks", and that can have ill effects... but what about stock springs with koni dampers?

Anyone tried this?
Thanks

the uprated shocks should have no problems with the stock springs.

It's vice-versa like you said ,stock shocks with lowering springs that can cause issues.

Just something to consider, when i put Eibachs in my Viggen, it actually raised the front air dam a little bit. That's because the front springs are about the same height as stock, but the rears are lower. So when the back drops down the front bumper goes up. The car isn't much lower, mostly just level. Of course, other springs drop more.

Good luck. The Koni shocks are excellent, they make the biggest difference.

Ive got an ng900 and have new oem springs with Koni's and although there is a slight difference in the stiffness and ride height it is great. I went to vogtland lowering springs originally with a gs 6pt subframe brace and it looked great but I was bottoming out alot (courtesy of the north east). I went to new oem springs and it retained the great handling with a much more comforting feeling of not hitting the pavement over any decent stuff.

While we're on the subject..

can someone tell me the compatibility for Koni's/Vogtlands and NG900's/9-3's? I forgot which combination it was.

My dad picked up a 9-3 with a full Koni kit that he doesn't need, so I'll be taking them. I mainly just want the shocks. I don't remember if it's the front seats or rears that are different..
