SInce its gotten cold my power steering has whined for maybe 30 seconds when I start it up for the first time in the am. How ever when I went to start my car to let it warm up before leaving work it whined horribly and would not go away even when at operating temp. At a stand still its the worst and as speed up it gets better. Also there where tiny bubbles and it looked like fluid was getting pushed out from the resivor. Is my pump shot?

Spoke too soon

It does look like the pump is gone so what am I in for when I replace it?

Is there any specific fluid that's better suited for the 9k or will anything work?

Ok seriously how the FUCK do I get the hard line off? I just can't seem to get a good angle and I'm not sure which end of the 90 degree bend to attack. Tia

You should be able to take the line off at the pump with a 16mm wrench, probably easier to go after it from the top. Fluid...I've been using Pentosin chf 202, basically the synthetic stuff they call for on the 9-5 etc.

okay; I got the new pump installed but I realized the suction hose keeps collapsing at the pump end >.<
