port matching manifold/turbo flange

I believe a long time ago i saw a thread where the exhaust manifold and turbo flange was dremeled/grinded to the rectangle shape of the t25 flange instead of the small circle. Has anyone tried grinding the manifold and turbo to the rectangular shape that is outlined? is this worth doing while my turbo is off?

Not sure it's worth it for the T25, but I have done on the exhaust manifold to match it to a oval shape of the TD04 6cm which is totally worth it.
Only gains would be to match the manifold and turbo fitted. Don't grind in the exhaust housing scroll of the turbo. ;)

That's what I thought. Just didn't know 100% to give a positive answer.
Yeah I was just talking about port matching the two. What tools did you guys you? What estimated hp gain can i get? And does anyone have pics?
Thanks for the info so far.
Take the gasket, lay it on the exhaust manifold and mark the outline. The best are carbide bits which can be used with a drill and I think you can get them for dremels as well. Makes easy work of it, but I have no numbers as most do this when they swap turbo's.
ONLY machine out the exhaust manifold. Don't touch the turbo exhaust housing. It will be easy to see if there is any sections that need to be ported out.

You don't wanna do this since the gasket uses the oval shape found only on the 6cm housing of the TD04. The t25/TD04 5cm housings use a smaller circle opening.

ooops, my bad as I didn't read the question all that well, thought the user was going to a 6cm (aero) from a 5.
hmmm i probaly should have done that when i did my turbo o well that f*ckers too hard to get out to do it now. i hope its not a huge difference
