Opening Side Vent Windows

This kind of a specific request....

I saw a Saab 900 S the other day on the road with its rear driver's side/passenger side vent windows (the glass right behind the doorglass) open. The car looked pretty old, so I thought it might be in this (NG900) generation. Can anyone tell which production years the 900 S was offered with opening rear vent windows?

Much thanks.

I remember seeing a note in an old EPC version "with fixed side window" This hinted that there was a version maybe not into production that had a window that opened. I have never heard of one in the wild. Being fond of the 3Door I always thought it would be great mod.

Bonus Round

Thanks for the helpful replies.

Now, for the bonus round. Can anyone tell me if the latch or hinges on these side vent windows were attached to the glass using screws or bolts (through the glass) or "glue"/adhesive ("glued" so the glass, i.e. no bolt going through the glass and showing on the other side.)

I very much appreciate the info.

I'm assuming there is a black frame going round the window to which the hinges are attached. Right?

Is the latch which pops-out and holds the window open also attached to the black frame, like the hinges?

Well vw took their already fast r32 and went back and redesigned it they put the motor in the back gave it 650hp and since they wanted it to look the same they used the rear windows as forced air to cool the engine I saw this article
