Picked this up tonight:

2003 linear, 120k. Could not pass up the price, despite the color.

The dealer had a tech pop the valve cover off for me as well, so I could check the sludge scene.
Looks clean!

I also got to check out the underside. Also very clean.

The black interior is pretty much perfect and the outside is pretty nice as well. Needs the usual headlight wetsand/buff, and a detailing...but other that that, it should be a nice daily. Came with the hard cargo cover, rolling cover, dog net thing, rubber mat, AND it has the cargo tie-down system in the floor.

Needs new tires, but for now, I'll just swap the snows I have on the ass-ugly stock wheels until I find a set of 17" wheels. Not in a rush.

Plans:

-tune up
-tint
-wheels
-DIY intake cause it sounds neat
-install my roof rack
-rack up miles
-that's it

yes, excited about your purchase... more excited to see this rumored "rolling cargo cover"

I didn't think they existed. Going to ask my indy on Monday, and hoping maybe I get really really ridiculously lucky and he's got one in a parts car.

I may have been trippin, yo.

I'll look again tonight. I looked at a car that had the retractable cover, like a set of blinds, and the pet net at the same time. My car has the pet net, and I thought it had the retracting cover as well.

I have been under the hood most of the time, so I have not had a chance to check it out.

I also laughed at "fuck games"

Wow, that's odd. That pretty low mileage for that to go out.

I got a T7 TB for free tonight that was doing the same thing as yours with no CEL, so I'm going to take it apart and mess with it this weekend. I have read things about the contacts going out, and some stuff getting plugged up. It will be interesting to see what compressed air and solvent does.

The CEL came back tonight after re-setting it, so it's probably the TB. I also called BBA re-man today, and they get $250 to send you a rebuilt TB, and then your old one, or you can send in yours, and they will re-do yours for $200.

Both options have a lifetime warranty, so that leads me to believe you just need to tear into it a bit.

Either way, annoying.

I did this a couple days ago to my cousins 9-5 Aero. Dealer qouted $700 so I told him to GTFO and bring me the car.

We went the BBA route for $250(shipping included there and back if you go through eBay). and they had it to us the next day. You MUST provide a part number or they won't ship. I got the PN from Eeuro.

Install was easy too aside from working on a scalding engine and dealing with a bit of spilled coolant.

Next time it happens, I'm getting a Td04. :) Ok, probably not. There was not any shaft play to speak of, so...

Huge mod for the day, after a wash and some detailing:

De-badged, removed the stupid dealer sticker, plate frame, and buffed out the hatch.

Looks roughly 8000000 times better.

Speaking of emblem, I de-badged, and re-badged:

I'm confused, I don't see a difference?

Congrats on the wheels. I loved them on my Viggen.

Ok, a few updates, since I know all of you were freaking out and shit:

-fixed the wastegate
-reset the throttle body
-new/used DI
-new BPC
-new plugs

I have full boost, and I got 27 MPG out of my first full tank after I fixed everything. I also have a cabin air filter, fuel filter, and new emblems waiting to go on.

Speaking of emblem, I de-badged, and re-badged:

I also just bought a set of these:

Gonna look like this:

Yep, I bought "played" wheels. I have always liked these, and now I have a set. Suck it, haters.

I got them for a neato deal too. Should have them on in a week or so.

Like everyone is saying, not played out at all. Unless you go to Carlisle or SOC you won't see them on a Combi in the wild. Although when I got the Nails installed I did sell these.

And just so you know these rims are wearing 235/45/17 tires in this picture.

Nope, no rubbing issues at all. Even fully loaded with 5 adults and junk in the trunk. I do have the H&R springs in from Taliaffero SAAB, along with Koni shocks. I know Nick doesn't sell them any more, and one reason is because they really ride low in the back.

The picture of my car was taken after I installed a custom set of spring spacers that Nick made for me after seeing how low it rode in the back at SOC last year in Ohio.

I put in a set of 25mm spacers in the back to try and level out the rear end. I could actually have gone another 5mm up, and this is what it looked like when the springs were new.

I think that is why Nick is now selling the Vogtlands, however I haven't seen any pics with these in a Combi.
