I noticed theres an oil leak in my dads car. Theres a hose that goes from the engine block to the oil pan. What is it called? I cant find it anywhere.

Thanks

That's the turbo oil return hose, a common area for slow leaks.

If it's only leaking in faint drips when it's sitting or at idle, but the leak increases under acceleration, then there might be a faulty seal between the oil filter/cooler attachment assembly

Sourcing oil leaks is a bitch.

best way is to go low-tech first and put some cardbard or posterboard under the engine and tape it to the ground. check the location of the leaks on the cardboard and ou'll have a bit more sense of where it's com ing from...

If that doesn't work, then you might need to get some UV dye...

What type sealer is user on the Oil Filter/Cooler attachment? Is it an actual gasket or is it RTV like everything else?

Yes, on the outside of the oil pan there were some drip marks right under the turbo to oil pan. Ill replace the hose and seals during the next oil change. Theres a huge stain of dried oil on the garage floor lol.

....but that's a classic place for oil to drip from slight goofs on changes. :)

Clean the engine really well with steam, or Simple Green on a warm engine, then rinsed with warm water...

Then check the area again after a week or so....

You can clean your own car buddy.

In all seriousness, I've got a minor oil leak in that same area on my 900...turbo oil return. No big deal....just keep an eye on it till you can make a permanent fix.

i replaced mine with a random hose from autozone for $3.87 (plus tax)
i think it was from so honda so something. i just went to AZ and asked to go out back and look at the replace ment hose and they took me out there and i font the right hose to go from the TD04 to the oil pan, i just had to shorten it up a bit.
