Oil cooled turbo on a later 900

Are they any specific details I should know about sticking an oil cooled only turbo on an 89?

Plug the waterlines. If you car is already plumped for an water cooled turbo maybe it would be better to find one that is?

Thats the plan but Im just planning for a worst case scenario
