I have fitted a CURT hitch to my 9-5 and it's is just fine. I also sold another one last year too and installed it on a customer's 9-5 which would not clear an upgraded performance muffler (exhaust system) that was more robust than the Curt - but I needed function over weight capacity.
OEM ones are smaller and more compact on mounting and requires removal of bumper cover - the CURT does not.
