I have been following abdukted1456's "EPIC 1990 turbo vert project" thread with great interest in general restoration techniques... of course, it wasn't long until I wanted a C900 project of my own. :D

This weekend, I picked up a '91 900T convertible in Wheaton, IL. :) It's my first 900, but I've owned many 9000s over the years.

I can't wait to get things sorted out on this car -- too bad winter is coming so soon!

I've never driven a c900! I've driven everything else in the Saab family though (for the most part)

What are they like to drive? I've heard c900's have a rough ride?

Looks like a clean car, what's wrong with it?

Congrats dantinne, nice car!

Looks just like mine did when I picked it up back in 07. Black/black/tan/stock turbo wheels. :)

Heaps of fun, and no, the ride is not rough unless you put in lowering springs, just like most any other car.

Nothing too crazy, just something for farting around on nice days.

(I say that now, but next year at this time it'll probably have new springs, Super Aeros, SPG panels, etc. LOL.)

Looks great! I got myself a 900 vert in august this year, in my case it was just a N/A, but that could be changed... More pictures please.

The interior is in fair shape.

Floor mats are missing -- is State of Nines the best place to get good-quality, properly-fitting mats? I'm assuming convertible mats have a unique design.

The dash is cracked, but I assume that comes with the territory. :)

The tops of the door panels are worn... perhaps that area can be filled and dyed?

The glove box door is misaligned and has "blisters" as shown in attached pic... again, I'm assuming that's typical. Is there an easy fix, or should I just plan to do this?

The drivers seat is missing the knob to adjust the seat back angle... and it's a little worn. I have a tan seat from a 9000 in good shape... looks like it will bolt in... and the only drawback will be the loss of flip-forward ability.

The passenger seat back doesn't adjust properly -- one side of the seat back wants to move. I've fixed a similar problem on a 9000 seat before.

Any c900 mats will fit.

Seat release knob can be purchased through eeuroparts or thesaabsite I believe.

You can probably just swap the 9000 seat skins over to the 900 frame, cut a hole for the release. Not a difficult job. Fitment will depend on year.

Seat is twisting because you have a broken cable sheath. Do a web search for "saab 900 cable sheath repair" or "saab twisted seat repair" and you'll see plenty of how-to info.

The glove box fix is my website. Still holding up great with no reappearance of blisters.

There is very little rust on the car... it was previously titled in NY and SC.

The rust "bubble" on the right rear wheel arch is really solid -- unlike anything I'm used to seeing. Is this typical rust area on 900s?

The area under battery has a couple small holes, but isn't too bad. The welds on the end of the steel square tube look kinda crappy, but I can't tell if they're stock or if it's an old repair.
