i studied IronJoe's write up on saabcentral followed everything to the ''T'' i followed the configurtor info... but thats where i got hung up. when i select the MSnS-extra option and save it throws a message that says "ERROR does not support function- Megasquirt closeing"
but when i select the "MS I" option it opens fine but keeps throwing and error message "kpafunction4115.inc" and i am not getting any readings from my MAP even if i put pressure to it. iam running the Map daddy 4.0 bar map. does any one have a configurtor that i can try and some base map with t5 injectors
If you're planning on going over 21 PSI you'll need more than a 2 bar map sensor. And since the 3 bar is discontinued, most people just get the 4 bar from DIYAutoTune.
um.... welcome to the saab world there raul... 21 PSI is pretty attainable on a saab, and not unreasonable for that matter. I don't know much about MS, but it would probably be a safe bet to go with something over 2 bar if you plan on being near 21 psi too. The simple fact that over pressurizing can occur, is enough reason to CYA and go with a higher rated transducer. Overloading a pressure transducer (like a MAP sensor) even once by accident can cause it to give incorrect readings from there out.
sorry spgeebee, can't help on the MS end of it, hopefully paulh and/or delorean will chime in for ya
I can boost 25 PSI no problem, but it is not safe. Besides you have to retard the crap out of timing. Guys I've done this, I've blown trannies and engines too. in megasquirt when the map sensor is maxed our, for example 21psi, then the ecu will read the last value, so you still got some room, maybe up to 25psi before it starts leaning out.
I personaly with all the mods do not plan boosting past 25psi.
ya, but pushing the MAP past what it is supposed to go to can damage it such that it will be misreading afterwards, in which case, you'd need a new MAP
well after alot of work and head scratching i finally got the car up and running correctly! all i had to do was up load MSnS-Extra on my MS using the boot uploader. i cant wait to do ignition now!! and i glad this unit is very well doccumented.
