Initial impressions are very good. It feels a lot better than stock. Also the installation was easier than I thought. I wrote up instructions for it here,

There is no need to modify the shifter housing like I did with my custom DIY short shifter. I set mine to the shortest amount and removed the reverse lockout. I can easily get into any gear and I still have the 5th gear/reverse bumper.

Those instructions are great Eric...I am still a little hesitant to try doing it myself though. Would you say that keeping the reverse lockout still gives you enough change in throw distance and feel? I'd hate to do all the work only for slight improvement. I like the reverse lockout, but I'd give it up if necessary.

Nobody has to remove the reverse lookout. I kept mine when I did Eric’s DIY instructions for short shifter. All you have to do it cut the plastic in half, then take the amount out you want to shorten up, and then heat both ends up and put it back together. Its not that hard, it took about 10 min.

I removed the reverse lockout, and I love it. Now I don't feel bad about leaving my car in gear when I park...it always felt like it was always putting strain on reverse whenever i parked on a hill. Also I can install a timer since I never let my car cool down enough after driving

I think i took reverse lockout wrong. I don't have reverse lockout also. I took that out but i like having to be able to lift up on that nob to get it into reverse. Thats what i kept. I think the reverse lockout is annoying anyway.

Sorry got confused in the lockout thing, but i left the option of pulling it up to get it into reverse just not lockout. :?
