Im trying to pick the gauges im going to order (oil and turbo) after looking at glow shift I finally decided to go with old trusted VDO gauges (mechanical boost and electric oil) I was thinking of getting an 80PSI oil pressure gauge but whats the max oil pressure can the engine develop?

(also how useful is the vacuum gauge for diagnosing problems?)

80 PSI is the max...I just had this conversation with a Tech from Conntech today...I asked him how I could blow 4 quarts of oil all over the driveway...he said these engines produce 80 PSI and if a seal blows...it only take a few seconds to loose all oil pressure...I cold started my engine and let me tell you the oil blew out about 5 feet in front of my car...

Jumps right up to 105 psi at idle. As engine warms up, pressure falls.

Fully warmed in Park
900 RPM Idle - 20psi
1500 RPM - 35psi
2000 RPM - 42psi
3000 RPM - 72psi
4000 RPM - 83psi

On Freeway
58 mph 2000 RPM - 43psi
75 mph 2500 RPM - 58psi

I see. I will go for the 100 psi VDO electrical gauge, hope fully its gonna be easy to read. But then again aslong as that arrow s tays above 15psi that all that matters =P

cking1975 hopefully your car is gonna be alright!
