Hi guys,

So mine's gonna be up for a replacement soon, I already saw the code pop up once. Is it 100% necessary to go with a genuine saab one? (eeuro has them for $330ish)

I found through research that MAFs

SAAB 55557008
A-1 Cardone 74-8311
AC DELCO 213-4327

seem to be interchangeable.

The Cardone one for example is only $100 ish. They certainly look the same. Has anyone ever tried it, or can give me a reason that I should stick with the genuine saab one? For all we know, its just a rebranded cardone or delco part, right?

The remans I have seen were not always perfect. Better than a dead one. If you are going to try and do it on the cheap get a can of MAF cleaner and get to work. If that doesn't fix the airmass deviation and the resulting fuel trims then replace with a factory maf for $320

Thank you Nick, a definitive answer!

However, I am actually a moron. I looked up what the p0101 code i have means other than "air mass related"

from what I gather, p0101 means big variance between calculated air mass and measured air mass. This makes sense given that I can feel and hear a boost leak, and know that the delivery pipe to TB seal is bad.
