I just received my matpun stage 4 ecu upgrade and when i step on the throttle the turbo boosts really far, but the car doesnt go anywhere.. seems liek a big problem. hooking it up to a tech 2 device was the only thing we could come up with at the time

any thoughts?? i'm very pissed off

Try the WOT test while accelerating from 2nd to 3rd....

If there's still no reaction there's definitely something up....

got it fixed.. it seemed my intercooler hose was loose and leaking..

only problem now is that i dont boost very much. i maybe boost 1 psi more than stock.. this is a stage 4 ecu i should be boosting up to 1.5 bar = 22 psi .. i'm probably running at most 13 or 14 psi .. where's all my missing power????? i'm getting very frustrated

Well since your first problem was with your engine, I would check around for more vacuum leaks, or vacuum hoses disconnected...Sure it isn't the ECU :D

Great to see it is somewhat better. The ECU is probably quite confused. Lets pull fuse 28 (at the end of the dashboard.) This will reset the adaptive values in the ecu without a Tech2. This is sort of a harsh thing since it resets ALL adaptive data in Trionic some of it is good to have, so don't do it at will. But in this case it is called for.

Nick is probably right about the ECU being confused.
Don't expect full boost right after resetting though. We did a reset with Tech2 on my car and it only boosted 0,.9 bar after the reset. It took some adaptionruns to get boost back at the level where it should be, that's 1.3 bar for my Hirsch ECU.
During the adaptionruns (at least six or seven runs) the Tech2 showed a higher peak boost everytime we accelerated at WOT for a longer period.

thanks for all the help guys.. nick i will do what you said and see how it goes...

as far as checking all the hoses and vacuum lines we have done that and everything seems to be working good.. i'll run it a ocuple more times before i pull the fuse and it nothing changes then i will remove it.. any more help iss always appreciated..

i also want to say thanks to nick for being a great help since this isnt even his problem but he has offered me assistance which he never even had to bother with. thanks again nick

and on another note.. i was just real frustrated with this whole situation and i made a comment i shouldn't have about group 9. they have tried to help me every step of the way it just seems as if its not enough sometimes and i made a rash comment here on tsl and i just want you all to think otherwise of it. they are good guys and it was just my annyoance to the situation taking over my thoughts.

Yea no problem man we understand what ur going through. I think you may have jumped the gun to say its Maptun when it turned out to be a hose issue, but hopefully all the issues are sorted out and are just minor hardware issues and not software.

after doing what nick said.. and then practically running the car hard all day the car still seems to not be running at its full potential.. i'm still losingboost somewhere.. i am going to take it to the dyno this evening and then maybe next monday take it to the dealer and hook it up to a tech 2 device and see if that can shed some light on whats going on

Is there any chance that you haven't done all of the necessary upgrades to reap the benefits of a stage 4 ecu... or checked the car out in stock mode first. The ECU has the best effect with a decent Bypass valve, downpipe, exhaust, intercooler, and after replacing/cleaning dirty air filter.

My Stage 3 Maptune went into full boost as soon as I dropped her in...sitting me back in my seat and pegging the needle in the high end of the red on my boost gauge. So I'm not sure you wouldn't notice the performance right out of the box.

Typically with the stock ECU getting into full boost you would drive the car at about 2000 to 2200 RPM under full throttle in 3rd to 4th gear on a straight incline road somewhere..

Someone mentioned checking the obvious as you already know.., but I also had a similar problem later.., and noticed vacuum lines next to the throttle body leaking.

good luck...hope you fix her...I would like to learn about your experience..and wondering if you'll dyno her to validate the numbers..
