Hey guys, I know there are a couple mac gurus out there, I'm pretty new to mac (running snow leopard btw), and I have a bit of an issue. I am trying to block certain web hosts according to this how-to: http://osxdaily.com/2007/03/19/block-access-to-specified-sites-by-modifying-etchosts/
I set up a Root password according to this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528
but when Terminal prompts me for my root password, I type it in but no text appears (i figured that was a safety measure) but when I hit enter it says "sorry, incorrect password."
What am I doing wrong? Or is there a different, easier way to do what I'm trying to do? Thanks guys!

Go to terminal (assuming your normal account has admin privileges, otherwise login to your admin account)

Type in:

sudo passwd root
Enter Password: Type in your standard user account password
Changing password for root
New password: Create your root password
Verify password: Verify your root password

That should get you going.
