so maybe it took a little while.
some things get stuck together after 210xxx miles.

anyways. it now has koni struts and shocks front and rear with b&g lowering springs. and one inch sway bars front and rear from sas. taking it to the autocross on saturday at a go kart track so we'll see how well she handles!

pics.

had to cut open the old struts in front and put in the koni inserts.

that's exactly what it was.
however i had just replaced the seal but when i put that whole piece (idk what it's called held on by t40 torx with a shaft in it) back on the car after the seal replacement i broke the o-ring that fits on it. so it was leaking.

Non lowered Aeros look funny after getting used to seeing/having a lowered one. Looks real nice. I would change out that 3inch exhaust clamp it looks poopy

yeah - they come from SAS with them - or Eeuroparts.com sells ones for OEM bars.

I love my SAS bars - I had to dremel a little of the rear frame for the front bar to keep it from vibrating against it. The front one was a 2 man operation to install the end links - major PITA.

oh yea huge PITA but totally worth it.
what we did was we ended up lowering the car down and putting a jack under the ball joints and then pryed down on the end links with a 3 foot pry bar and then there was just enough to get the nut threaded on.
but once again. totally worth it!

So being as I replaced my suspension with Bilstien HD's - I didn't have to do an insert front strut like you show. Mine came as an all sealed unit like the factory ones do. I just realized this looking at your photo's - looks like an NG/OG 900/9-3 setup there this way. How does it secure into the cut tube? Looks fairly shady - but if the locking procedure is decent, it's no worse off than an ng900 I guess.

You drill a hole in the bottom of the strut housing after removing the original insert, and there is a threaded section in the koni insert that a bolt with a lock washer goes into. Then is torqued to something like 75nm i think. Dont quite remember, but there is also a centering collar(silver ring) that goes around the top side of the housing where you cut it apart, and slide the koni insert into.

She has more detailed photos of what steps we took to put them in.

good setup, im asuming those are the B&G springs buy there color?

the SAS sway bars are epic, but what youll find is that the better suspension will show flaws in chassis flex.

things like front and rear braceing should be next on the list..........

either way, its a great upgrade, let me know how crossing goes

be carefull, those miatas are tuff adversaries out there

On my car, with the wheels turned completely to either side, the Koni bolt almost contacted the axle. After I finished installing everything, I backed the car out and had to make a sharp turn and that's when I heard clicking so I pulled back in. I removed the wheel and saw that the Koni bolt had been hitting the clamp with the car on the ground. It looks like, if I make a sharp turn and hit a bump (like going up onto a curb), the bolt will het the axle. With car on the lift, it came very close, but with the car on the ground...problems, so I removed the Intrax springs. A lot of work for nothing. Like I said, that's on my car, a '96 Aero.

Hmmm very interesting. I saw that the bolt came very close, but we haven't had any issues so far with them on their. Lets hope for the best. Maybe the springs were redesigned since they seem to be a different length.
