Bourdain has such a sense of humor.
i am glad that he has finally decided to not eat just whatever is suggested (or placed in front of him).
i think that part of his viewer audience was turned off by the fact that he was so commonly turning away from the camera just before losing the contents of his stomeache.
growing up, i almost never ate red meat. my parents went mostly vegetarian, occasionally eating fish or chicken, but mostly lots of veggies and tofu with many meals. now, i only rarely eat red meat (about once a month, if that) and most of my friends will cook some chicken or fish when i am over for a bbq or dinner.
i have had dates that were visibly disgusted when i ordered chicken. that made my dinner very difficult to enjoy, they were making it so obvious that they disapproved of my meal. my ex usually does not eat meat, will occasionally eat chicken but loves fish. barely cooked fish, or not cooked at all (sushi), which was very easy on me as i can go either way. chicken or not, fish or not, i dont really care. i do not want red meat cooked in my house, especially not on my cookware, as i can smell it for days and taste it on my cast iron for weeks.
honestly, i would be a little turned off if i were to find myself on a dinner date with a woman that decided to order a steak.
i am quite a bit more turned off when i find myself on a dinner date with a woman that decides to eat almost nothing at all. "i dont want him to see me eating too much" "i dont want him to think i am a pig" is total bs. i dont need to deal with dating someone that has an eating disorder. i would prefer she eat a steak followed by a hamburger than nothing at all.
