Hi,

(I apologize for the duplicate post!)

I have lost both key fobs for my 2011 Saab 9-3 XWD --- along with all hope of finding them. I live approx 100 miles from the nearest Saab dealer and was quoted a minimum $600 for towing my car there and then additional $1500-$2000 for new CIM and 2 new keys. The car is sitting in my garage locked with the security system light still flashing.... does anyone have ANY alternatives or solutions????!!!! PLEASE???!! Thank you! :(

Srsly BOTH keys lost in that little time?

Where are you and where is the nearest saab dealer?

Have you talked to your insurance company yet?

the insurance company might cover that? never even thought of them

and OP sorry buddy but there is no other option.

How did you manage to lose all keys?

i purposely bought a 3rd key and put in my safe at home to avoid this situation.

and i have told every person that has a saab with one of the "you screwed if you lose the keys" alarms.

the good news is that our cars are un-steal-able without a flatbed or the key.

Check with these guys.

You can actually have it done at a shop that isn't a dealership as long as they have a Tech2 (the factory diagnostic tool) and a way to give the tool "Security Access" to let it code the anti-theft system.

Where do you live? Someone here may be able to recommend an alternative that is close to you.

You can call around European car shops in your area and ask if they have those things and if they have replaced the CIM in a 9-3SS that has had it's keys lost before. They will know what you're talking about if they know how to do it. If they don't know what you're talking about, call the next place on your list.

Thanks Everyone!

Thanks everyone for the responses! I am going to start calling around again tomorrow. Today yielded no positive results. And yes, I "lost" both keys... at the same time. I still love my 9-3 no matter what! :)
