Hey guys i need your opinion there's a Viggen for sale that i really want that's selling for 10,400 it's a black 5DR viggen and has 115K on it let me know if that's a crack price. Anyway i always wanted a Viggen when i was 18, im now 22 I probably can get what ? 2-3GS? For my car i have 99 93 with 205K and there are many reasons why i want to sell it because there are some problems with the car. The clutch is gone,3rd gear is gone, and i need another DI. Like man i love my car i love T5 but i just want a car to drive smooth no 3rd gear grinds or nothing, i can't even speed shift. It sucks! So let me know what do you think i should do guys? And if the Saab is a price i should buy it for ? I want to buy it for a good price 10,400 seems kinda high. Thanks!*

Agree with ^^ And also 2-3g's for your car sounds VERY high considering the work it needs from your description. $1500 would be my top dollar value on your car... but I wouldn't pay that. Easy $1000 for someone who just needs a car quick for $1000....

Viggen just sold here - 1999 LB very clean and upgraded nicely for $7000 (search the for sale section) They do turn up and they SHOULD be had for the $5000-$10000 price range. Mileage and performance upgrades will varry pricing... I'd hold out until you found a nice example under $8500... or near. If it's STOCK and low mileage this too would increase value.

I would wait it out for sure! That car is clean but personally a more reasonable price would be under 8k.

For example, bought my Viggen (very clean and stock) 2 years ago with 88k for 8k.

Someone just sold a Viggen with around those miles, plus a lot of upgrades for Stg 3, for around 7k.

I, like you, had my heart set on one and got so excited I ran out and found the first one and bought it. While I do not regret it, there are better deals to be had if you are patient. Good luck though.

Even if you get a Viggen, it's not like you're going to really be able to speed shift. Your current car and the viggen have the same linkage and transmission except for the fact that the Viggen has an upgraded differential and axles.

that does seem hight... but if you want it & are willing to take it for $8K see if they are willing to deal that much, you never know!

If you're serious about a car like a Viggen, you need to research sites like Craig's List, eBay, etc. to find cars sold by private owners...hopefully folks that want to see them go to other SAAB fans. I looked for over a year before buying my 2001 vert on eBay in 2006.

That $3900 car looks a lot like the one you spotted for $10,000+...and you could easily afford airfare to go get it and still save $$$.

He's right, do some research I was always looking but not looking... ready to jump on a deal if I found one and I did... 2001 black viggen 5dr w/ 65k miles for $X,XXX too low to list... had a cracked piston but I bought it cheap enough that I've already bought a GT30 for it and forged internals on the way...

PASS.

Don't buy high, not with prices coming down as hard as they have been. It's rare to find a Viggen worth paying over $10k these days, I sure as hell would not pay it for one with over 60k miles.
