looking at a viggen...

So I am looking at picking up a viggen this weekend... just what I need another car haha. I was wondering what the problem spots are with viggens and how to tell if the engine has had a sludgy life or not. It has 155k or so on it, but the owner says that he dropped the pan 3 years ago when he bought it from a dealer and it looked good.

2001, 5 dr, black, 155k, no body rust, $3000.

Good deal? I have always wanted a viggen.

3k is very cheap. dang.

You would just look for the same issues as a regular og9-3...well maybe 9-5 in this case. Ask him what his oil intervals were since he dropped the pan, that will give you a good idea of what shape it's in. Look for the PCV 6 update. At this mileage, it should have had a clutch, DI casette, MAF, and possibly a throttle body replaced. The td04's are pretty tough so it should be in good shape. Other than other typical wear items (i.e. water pump, serp belt, a/c compressor), I think that's pretty much it. It's going to be hard to come up with a reason not to buy that car for $3000.

Yeah your telling me. I talked it down to $3000. He said 3k at MOST 3.5k oil intervals since he has owned it (3 years). So I am imagining it should be good.

What is PCV 6 update? What should I look for? I am new to T7.
This is PCV6.

You can tell at a glance that the car has it if there's a connection on the back of the oil fill tube.
