Hello All. It's about time we do it. and there will never be a better time and reason than now. Sunday, Jan 24th.we will meet at a huge parking lot at 31b Route 303 Tappan, NY 10983. It's exit 5S of the Palisades parkway. meeting is @ 10 am leaving by 11 to be in the middle of time square @ noon, then we will continue another 6 miles to Liberty State Park in New Jersey for a spectacular photo op that may include the Statue of Liberty in the background, . . We need every saab that can come. A 1000 SAABs should do it, but I am OK with enough saabs until the lot is full which should be about 400 SAAB's make a banner a decal or whatever you want to speak your words but lets carry a positive message to the world and to the media.

here is the route

Shit, I think I'm going to be in NoVA that weekend. Poop.
Saab Rally

Count me in for the rally at Times Square. Shouldn't the day coincide with the Rally at Trollhatten on the 17th?
You're a little late Meg.
Sunday, Jan 24th. meeting is @ 10 am leaving by 11 to be in the middle of time square @ noon. "

What are you talking about, seth?
Oh I saw the 4th.
Thanks Brewtide for defending my post and correcting Seth. BTW Seth is Nesa doing a rally on the 17th? Didn't see any info on the site for anything. Being that NE has alot of Saabs, it would be a good thing. This coming from a former New Englander. See ya in NY.
Going to try to make it up there for this. If so, '99 9-3.
Rally on the 17th? No.

Hey, it's what I do. I'm head of the anti-Seth campaign. Not really. At all.

However, is anyone from Maine going to this? I've been doing my road trip every 3 weeks schedule, and lucky me, that hits about 3 weeks since my new years roadtrip....

How about it?

Gonna try to make it down, if the 9000s not running, I'll take the train.

Or get my friend to bring his 86 c900 'vert out.
IMO it'll still be too late - the fate of Saab will be decided before then, probably this coming week... of course a post-mortem rally wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
Yeah, it's been 'too late' for months, IMO. However, a rally OF saab's , regardless of what happens, is sure to be one last hoorah' in the minds of people, and seriously, it's something that you could *never* participate in again....

900aero, Is anyone alerting the news media about this event? I am making up a flyer and putting them on every Saab I see starting this week. I have been putting www.rescue-saab.com flyers on them up to today. I am Saab tried and true and want to see Saab moving back to it's roots and live. Unfortunately we can't stop GM utiltizing Saab's technology and engineering and putting their own nameplate on them. So anyway, press would be a good thing.

NYC Times Square Saab Convoy

Shane,
Hope you got the flyer. Started faxing it to Saab dealers in the Tri-State praying it gets to the right people. Will continue tomorrow. It may be too late, but GM needs to know that Saab is more than a car, but a community of people behind them who care. Will see about the media when we get more people signed up. There is power in numbers. Till tomorrow. Getting the word out.
Would love to make it down, but the Viggen is in storage til April... and I don't really feel like driving the 90 900S down there (no nav).
You better alert SaabHistory so we can have a third person narration of the events.
I think you're missing your mark. You should be going to the GM building on 5th and Central Park South. I think there will be much more room there for cars, right in front of the Plaza. Times Square will be a nightmare if you get a lot of cars. You can always drive through TS, but there is so much going on there, don't be surprised if nobody noticed you.

I'm not even sure if GM has offices in the building anymore, but it could be symbolic.

I may be there with the '93 Comm Ed, depending whether my son is taking it back to college or not.
GM has sold the building and moved out.
