Hey guys! I am looking into replacing the PCV system and bypassing the bcv electronic control valve on my newly acquired 2002 Saab 9-5! It was a linear that though a long course of events now has a TD04 but a question has been lingering in my head about the intake pipe. I have a vacuum fitting like the one on the (cam angle sensor?) but it has a solid cap in it. I have read that a hose is supposed to lead to this and seen pictures of it, but have also seen many with out a hose.

I am stealing this picture from another thread but the fitting in question is circled in green

If anyone can ease my mind on this being the way its supposed to be or smack me in the face and tell me to stop driving it until I fix it either would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
Alex

are you suggesting skipping the ecu-controlled boost in favor of a MBC?
Unless things have changed tuning-wise, it's a no-can-do. The ECU will flip when it can't control boost, and you'll be swearing while you try and reset the TB from LHM.

No no no the Re-circ valve mod where you bypass the electric controller that 'civilizes' the recirculating valve.

Also while I have y'alls attention on the PCV system replacement there is essentially a 50 dollar kit, and a 100 dollar kit with more stuff, do I need the full kit or will the 50 dollar one do?

Ohhh... on mine, I left the solenoid plugged in, and ran a vacuum bose from the intake manifold "tree" straight to the valve.

I think you just buy whatever is needed to bring yours to 6. I think the smLler kit olis for people only making one "step". Better safe than sorry, I suppose.
