Posted for Sleepy.

Sleepy called me from a gas station this afternoon. After shutting off and removing the key from the car (1999 9-3 180k autotragic) he could not get the key back in. It would go in, but not turn or depress in preparation to turn.

I figured it froze, being in Wisconsin in all but it was just being driven it would not have frozen that fast.

Perhaps the linkages between the transmission lock out?

Thoughts?

Try pulling back on the shifter....back into reverse and turn the key.

So I called the Autoshop. Turns out its more than likely my buggered ignition switch. Luckily I have a spare. Nothing like working on your cold car at 3am in 10 degree weather with 20mph wind gusts off Lake Michigan after working for 11 hours in a hot kitchen. I'm looking for a ride to my car atm and plan on swapping ignition switches.

And Hello Forums. I can't quit you.

Kudos to PoisonBeef for posting this. I really need to get a smartphone.
