But I'm picky. I have this posted at SAABCentral under the handle frankensaab...which is a handle here, but somehow the acct is messed up & won't let me post.

Preferably in the midwest, but I'll travel for or ship the right car.
Non-TCS vehicle with the mitsu turbo.
5-speed (implied by the mitsu turbo, but there it is).
1994 through 1997
I need a solid starting point. Can't have rust. Can't have a trashed engine or transmission.
NO RUST
Silver, Blue, or Eucalyptus Green

I'm willing to pay good money for a good car. Up to $10,000 but the car needs to be worth it.

Ultimately I may buy a car with an auto transmission and a T25...convert it to manual, drop in a GT28RS & exhaust, and be on my merry way, but we'll see.

So anyone have this car?

I actually had that guy (the green 1994 in NY) committed to sell it to me. He sold it out from under me the morning he was supposed to take it to an independent mechanic for inspection.

More than a little frustrating. I had a shipper lined up, I had the inspection ready to go. I was in good shape. He said those things wouldn't be a problem and everything was set.

Then he sold it. So much for good faith.

Boston CL has a very nice Imola Red 97 Aero 5spd at a dealer in braintree. Asking 6995 I believe.

I personally wouldnt worry about anything but the condition of the body and the paint. You can make any 9000 with a turbo into exactly what you want without much work.

Hey Ray -

It is indeed me and he did indeed sell it out from under me. Or he lied as a tactic to get more money - either way I don't trust him any further than I can throw his beautiful green Aero.

So - I'll keep looking.

Nick - Definitely appreciate the lead on the Imola Red Aero. That is a beautiful color, I just don't need that much attention. I love black too, maybe my favorite color, but I don't have the time to keep black looking the way it ought to.

Then I'm just not a fan of the darker green. White's also a no-go.

So I'll keep looking for blue, silver, or eucalyptus.

I honestly might pick up a nice looking CSE 5-speed and buy the Aero bits afterwards. Lots of good options. I plan on tuning this past the stock TD04 ultimately, so it's not that critical.

If I can help it I want to avoid an auto-manual conversion. I also don't want to deal with TCS. Easier to swap a turbo, seats, wheels, and body trim than muck with that.

So...I'm picky.

The $700 1993 Civic I bought will get me to work in the meantime, so I'll just bide my time.

These cars come up every now and then, but as you know, are rare to find. Craiglook.com and Saabnet are your best search tools. I kick myself everyday for selling my silver 1995 9000 Aero last year! It seems like they're harder to find than SPG's and Viggens. Awesome cars. Hope you find yours!

hopefully it's not all sludged up from cold starts & short trips with that kind of mileage... A car that old with such suspiciously low mileage was probably used almost exclusively on short trips. I would suggest pulling the valve cover and having a look in there before you drive it too extensively. Also, just because it's a B234 and not a B235, it's not immune to sludge. T5 motors sludge too when poorly cared for.

If you pull the cover and it turns up clean, I'd say you got a good one! We need some better pictures
