Yep, a local posted there about tinting his tail lights, one of the regs in the OT section batied him and then one of the mods banned the kid who asked the question. I suggested he come here, but haven't seen him yet.

I also can't make heads or tails of some of the replys over there.

That said, if we're going to talk shit about SC and its members, sometimes I sincerely wish DavidMorgan would choke on a baguette.
Yep, same guy.

There was a guy selling a car few days ago. They banned him because somehow they found out he was a dealer and there are only private sales.

Well, from what I understood, guy owned this Saab for two weeks and then decided to sell it so I guess he was a private seller?

LOLZ at SAABCENTRAL.

E-thuggery is cute. Scott used to read / post over here now and then, so it should be fun when he sees this.

They're pretty clear about what constitutes a private sale and what doesn't, not everyone is going to let you advertise for free. SaabScott owns a business, and he doesn't get to advertise it on the site for free. Why should you?

That said, if we're going to talk shit about SC and its members, sometimes I sincerely wish DavidMorgan would choke on a baguette.

I never got into SC, alot of the people who post seem to be really nerdy and uptight. I was starting to get spoiled being here but I went to SC to respond to some F/S ads and got a warning about being monitored as a possible spammer (since I replied to 10 ads all in a row) and my posts were subsequently deleted. I will never go back.

This is an intriguing thread, I never knew all this behind the scenes stuff was so deep.

im sure he would catch on...good thing i got like 4 ip address's... its funny im jsut trying to inform people that we have the part they are looing for ... people have a choice to call us or not...... but he is limiting the members chances to find the parts they are looking for.... sounds really smart... and what a close nite community,

Their site, their rules I guess. I don't like some of the restrictions though. for example, never mention realcar or elkparts over there unless you want your response deleted  No problem mentionning GenuineSAAB because he's a major sponsorer. Not fair, but hey.

Still, many of the threads on SC are informative; I'm a regular over there. I learned many things about SAABs on SC.

Aaron, I recommended Elite soooo many times over there recommending talking to you specifically and I doubt any info was edited although I never checked.

Well elkparts is a direct competator of partsforsaabs.com which is owned/run by the same guy who owns saabcentral.com...it makes sense that he doesn't want people to promote the competition on his site. Still, humerous that it is a taboo word, but whatever, his site, his rules.

I occasionally pop on there to see if people have anything interesting going on, but a lot of times the 9000 section is people asking if they can run a MBC, or how to install a boost gauge.

#32 ·
Can I manually control the boost gauge? jk

I started posting there when I was 16 years old. (10 years ago) The site was called www.saab-900.com and it was neat back then. Now it's watered down and weakend by the socialist european drivel that point fingers at anyone trying to have fun.

I'll still visit and post there, but IMHO it has lost some of it's charm, don't we all as well. 'Tis life.

i used to like it at SC, but too many similar threads about the same thing, and the search tool blows. That, and as knowledgeable as the guy is, and as much as I do respect (and appreciate) his help - I cannot stand trying to decipher Earthworms 'yoda like' rhetorical responses where there isnt ever an answer, only another question from him. Answering questions, with questions..

I like everyone over here, even if you dont like me back.

Back in the day, SaabCentral was full of interesting characters, and some good times.

Now it's a lot of wankers, sheep-shaggers, and tossers.

There are still some good people on there, and plenty of good info, but the whole culture of the forum went south a few years ago.

I remember when Pete (tandino) was a regular, how awesome the C900 section was. But there were a lot of people who have been banned for pretty stupid reasons.

#28 ·
Agreed, the 9-5 section is the same way. Used to be cool now it's a lot of people asking how to install a MBC ("you can't"), how do I fix my alarm (isn't it stickied at the top of the forum?), and what oil is best (it doesn't matter just change it often).

I thought he was already un-banned???

I think I may have registered for Saab Central a couple years ago, but they never activated my account so I could post in the forums. Not really something to use for comparison. I had a hard time getting activated here as well. But that's probably because Blaque is not actively administering us anymore?
