yeah I wont beat on the ballancer
Ill use the ballancer to spinn the wheel so I can mark the low & high spots & then work it baby & stick it back on
Im pretty strapped at the moment & the tires are gona run about $300
Id like to get up to bristol & bring my buddy with the SC400 1JZ with the big ass john dear turbo on it :) (actually says john dear & has the logo) 460WHP on his mustang dyno
go beat up on some Camaros & Mustangs :)
Ill bet they will be suprized by my car :)
have a great wekend

best thing you've posted here yet! lol

the wheels look neato.

if you get this down so that they're pretty straight......well lets just say that i'm getting mental pics of my spg with some fat steels sticking out of the flairs.......it's making my pants tight.

can't wait to see what you do at the strip!

also a hint for posting pics is to host them elsewhere, like photobucket, and then just use the img tags to pop it in there. no re-sizing needed, just post the direct link from your external host saablink will automatically resize them, but you can click on the tab on the top of each image to resize them.

O bolted the wheels onto the back of my car tonight ......
one of them was acceptable & the other was way off :-(
after beating on it for a while I ended up cutting it back apart & re welding it
neither are perfect but Ive driven on worse & not had a problem
I may ballance them by themselves with weld on weight & then after the tires are on with normal wheel weights
take care

There are a few places that do this for motorcycle wheels - the poor mans' version of a 330 or 360 rear tire, might be worth talking to one of those shops and asking if they have any tips for you!

Looks good Jak, and again, glad to see you elsewhere!

How did you cut it? If you're good you can maybe torch it, but a better more accurate way to do it is to use a porta-band. Either way, pipe wrap or something like reciept tape is a must. Then you have a real nice clean and square cut to start with. You probably already know that though, just trying to help.

I was a Mill-Wright Assistant during the years I was in college...so I had the opportunity to learn how to cut/weld large gauge gas and water pipe very well.

I used the chop saw & rested the rim against my leg while rolling it around against the saws wheel
this time I tacked it & spunn it untill it looked fairly strait
its about as good as the inner lip
steel wheels arent verry strait :)
take care
