I had to buy this, flame away.

I had to buy another one.

I always wanted a real GTU and finding one with 40k miles is impossible to duplicate. Yeah its an auto, but after having the trans go out in the Vig, I am fine with having an auto to drive most of the time. The vent visors and seat covers give it some period correct cool points too.

I put in an offer for $2500 as a joke and the guy accepted and took my $500 hold. So he is cancelling the auction any minute now. Flame away, but its a great car for the money, a classic. Just have to get over your prejudices.

Thanks, like I told you on AIM those sell for about $400 on the boards.
I'm not sure what's classic about a Beretta, the only Classic part is you have a love affair with them.

Edit: And why did you ever offer 2500 with the bid price so low on a beretta? You should've offered like 1800.
Someone on the board said he was willing to pay $4500 if he could just get a loan from his boss who ran the Domino's he worked for and was going to use it for deliveries. So before he could get the $4500 I offered 2500 for shits and giggles and the seller agreed.

This car is the pinnacle of Beretta ownership.

My last 89' had digi dash, its cool in a Knight Rider sort of way. It even had a "sid" that calculated MPG and outside temp and DTE etc.

The interior is not its strong point but its far more well built and appointed than ANY C900 I have ever been in.

It's really odd that you posted this. I was staying with some friends up in Muncie, IN last weekend and stopped to see this:

http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/car/764580110.html

I bought it on the spot. Rode nicely on the trip home. 30ish MPG. I've already ordered a set of Azenis RT-615s for it.

I was sick of hearing you talk about how great they are so I took a sip of the Kool-Aid. I'm glad that I did.

NICE!!!!! I knew I would wear you down, glad you pulled the trigger on it.

Like I said, the Z26 has the 4t60E which is lame. I have a link to a write up from my friend who did the Getrag 282 swap on his. You will get high 14's just from the swap and take 120lbs off the nose which will help you in Auto-x.

Don't knock it till you try it, thats the point.

Beretta's are like the girl in school wearing tie die shirts and socks up to her knees with glasses and only looks down at the floor. But with her hair down and given the chance she winds up being quite cute and bangs out like a demonic nymph.

Nice! You never disappoint!

I already began sourcing a parts car to do the trans swap on the new GTU and a 1990 McLaren Grand Prix in a yard up state to source the T-25 and crossover. I am pissed I sold my first one before installing the turbo.

Hands down this will be faster, handle better, and get more stares than the Viggen. Its pussy magnet status will soon be passed on.

I know I know.

I did find a MINT low mile 89' SPG on CL this morning but I thought this car was a much smarter investment. I am thinking that GTU's and other highly sought after Beretta's are going to start appreciating substantially.

I bet the book value will go from $950 to $1250 in less than two years.

Yeah, definitely dated.

Meanwhile, look at the shaved door handles with them on the B pillars on the GTZ. That is clean, very ahead of its time. I hope GM gets smart and begins to do that on future Saabs.

I really like the hood bra, the unpainted rockers, and the front plate.
The unpainted rockers are standard on BASE and GT models. The GTZ /GTU/Indy/Z26 all had painted or body kits.

Hood bras are smart on a car like that, protect your investment. It could cost $2-400 at Maaco to properly paint a Beretta to the caliber of the OEM finish.

Saabeh, you really scored. That GTZ also has the spoiler and Z04 GFX still there. You could sell about $600 of parts off that car easy.
