Yes, with a rag and the rag got caught and dragged his hand through the chain between the sprocket.

So it would essentially look like this (but with a motorcycle)

lol yea, I was walking around my driveway waiting for the ambulance and I was like..FUCK I need pics lol so I pulled out my phone and snapped the pics. I have a Palm Pre and I am pretty impressed with the photo quality on the comp.

Guess He had nothing better to do, plus he was probably still in shock. Pretty crazy stuff. At least he has most of his fingers, he'll probably adapt fairly well.

One should never clean a powered chain. Clearly he knows this now... Shame he didn't have a Goldwing or a Moto Guzzi , that would not have happened

 

Or a Yamaha xj650! Shaft Drive Rocks!

Or even a Honda VF750S like I have (V4! Saab style yo!)

I can't believe someone would consider to run the chain and try to clean it like this! Why not just put the bike in neutral and turn the rear wheel? I mean maybe this guy also uses a lathe wearing a tie!

 

My uncle had this happen to his thumb when he was a kid, only has a half a thumb now. That is really nasty stuff right there, finger injuries freaking suck.

wow whata dummy he wont be using front brakes anymore. Ive never even considered cleaning my RC's chain with the bike running.

BTW shaft drive is for people who likes the shaft.... jk.. but hey what ever floats ya boat

 

My 82 Yamaha xj650 Seca is a shaft drive and I am happy with that.

 

your excused only if thats the Seca with the turbo... or if you have a Vmax

I showed this to a guy at work today who got his finger caught in a band saw to make him feel better about cutting the tip of his finger off. I told him it could have been much worse.
