Big Daddy Don Garlits lost half his foot to an exploding clutch. In fact, it severed the entire tube frame in half...

Yeah, I would agree. Do NOT resurface a flywheel with cracks in it...

That's a good Way to loose a foot.
I hope it'll be fine. I can't afford a new flywheel.

Ok.. fuck.

I don't have AWD. (which focuses ALL the energy onto the clutch, duh. )

or

934523q45 fucking thousand horsepower running through a 34 puck ninja clutch.

My car will be fine. Thank you for your concerned words. If it does explode and sever my aorta, I'll buy you a beer.

Dan....I've got a flywheel at home from some year Aero; not sure which. Lemme take a peek at it and see if I can see any cracks. If not, you're welcome to it; just pay the $10 or whatever it will take to stuff it into a USPS flat rate box and send it your way.

No kidding? Thats awesome man. I'm gonna be dropping it off at a machine shop in a little while, and if they say it's too cracked or worn, or whatever, I'll probably PM you.

Where in VT are you?

I dropped the flywheel off at the shop. Will know tomorrow.

There were small hairline cracks, and raised areas. The guy at the shop didn't seem too concerned about it, and I assume that he'd seen enough of these to know if there was an issue or not.

Time will tell.

And thanks guys, for helping me out so far.

Turned out nice looking. I asked about the cracks, and the guy at the machine shop said they were a non-issue. The raised areas (galling? ) were what he really had to work on.

Forecast of rain for the next few days ought to screw with me though. Till Sunday. Seriously, wtf?
