So I was driving home from the kids karate and was passing a car, all the sudden - heard a hiss and the car started running rough and not really boosting and missing badly, it died when ui slowed down, it will start and run with some throttle, not in linmp mode, no tcs light, no hoses blown off, changed dic, not smoking or leaking anything........diD my jzw ecu take a crap? Cps? Maf? I'm at a loss

check for hose splits not just hoses blowing off.
checked all the plugs, tried disconnecting the evap purge valve (evap system is turned off in my tune though) switched DIC. the car will crank, and if you hold the throttle open some it will idle sort of, very "jerky" and you can hear a pulse through the open air filter, throttle response is very "laggy" again no smoke from the tailpipe at all, so I doubt its a head gasket or blown turbo, good oil pressure too (over 25 psi when its idleing) it will try and idle by itself, it will give 3 short small surges than one big one then start the cycle over.
im leaning towards a possible CPS? what do you guys think?
I doubt its the fuel pump or filter for the simple fact it runs
You probably blew off the IC hose or had a split in it.
Ill pull the bottom cover and check the IC hoses good tomorrow, from the top they looked fine though. my CPS had a reading of 968 ohms between the front pin and the middle pin, I had no reading between the middle pin and the back pin.
would a IC hose cause these issues? It did happen when I was at almost full boost (25? psi or so)
what about if my Forge BPV was leaking or sticking open or something?
so I did 2 things, I cleaned my forge BPV a little (just wiped the grime mainly) and perfomed Nicks bypass control valve bypass mod http://genuinesaab.com/gallery/albums/troll/T7Bypass.sized.jpg
car runs fine now. Im stumped
if the BPV was stuck open/closed it could have caused an issue...
guess Ill be doing a complete rebuild on the BPV now
anyone know where I can get a forge BPV rebuild kit? I think I need a yellow spring too, instead of the green one
Call Forge directly: my twin piston BOV got stuck open and developed a vacuum leak so I called Forge and they sent me a brand new piston, O ring, grease, and a new secondary spring and primary spring for free. I didn't even pay shipping even though I offered.

Give them a call, but you do not need a yellow spring. Trust me, green is the only spring that should be used in these cars. You can also order spacers that give you half psi boost holding increases but Nick runs green springs on his 500+hp ng900 to give you a perspective. ;)
By the way, that is exactly what happened when my Forge BOV got stuck open on the way home from Carlisle last year. The car started to lose power then it completely died. I could only keep it alive by revving it and barely made it back to the gas station. Turns out the secondary spring failed and could not close the diaphram completely.

haha yeah I found a old post from you that described that, which is what caused me to start looking there. BTW what grease do you use on the inside, and also do you have their number? I cant seem to find a US website for them.
problem solved! the manifold vacuum fitting (that the BPV hose and FPR hose go to) was loose, or rather the bolt that holds it was only held on by 3 threads! tightened it down and the car is running perfect now! so it was a massive vacuum leak under boost
