Before I pull half the car apart does anyone know of a known fault in the heated seats that causes them to stop working? its just the drivers seat so must be something in the seat itself as opposed to just being a fuse etc?

9 times out of 10 it's a broken wire in the pad. They tend to break over on the bolster because you flex it every time you get in and out of the car, or sometimes in the middle if you kneel on the seat. If you take the upholstery off, you might be able to see the charred section where the wire broke. I soldered a new piece of wire into mine and got a couple of years of life out of it. It just broke again.

Two other things you can check before taking the upholstery off are the switch and the wiring connections under the seat itself. (mine was unplugged underneath)
