One of my old Saab 900s had a fancy pants K40 built in radar system. Someone in the late 90's or early 2000's spent probably $2k for it.

 

Hope you asked yourself if b202 would agree before you went and did this.....

Very cool, I like the switch idea!

On my Comm Ed, I added a small power jack to the speaker grille on the dash. It is wired to the cigarette lighter behind the dash. The detector mounts right next to it with velcro and only has a short 3" cord I made to plug it in. Sorry no pics. :-/

 

Wondering if this could have been mounted behind the front bumper/spoiler and wire in a chirped from the unit into the cabin and stash it. That way the unit on dash is totally stealth.....

That's what one of my old ng900's had:

Radar system behind the grille:

Laser Jammer below the front plate:

On/Off switch with volume control and power LED above it:

Then it had an LED on each side of the SID, left one indicated front bogey right one indicated rear bogey. Different blink patterns and noises for each radar type.

That on off switch looks like a rheostat, if so it doesn't really go off just cut frequency like the dash lights in the classics..

I got a couple rheostats kicking around my garage

 

Moral of the story is buy a Valentine 1 and mount it to the windshield haha.

 

Clean install.

 

I have a valentine, don't use it much, but I hard wired it using power going to the sunroof. I wrap the cord around the rear view mirror when not in use, can't even see it.

 

Nice clean install but if you care, you'll get a lot more range if you get it out from behind your windshield wiper.

 

I was gunna say it but didn't wanna seem like I was being a dick.

 

It is between the the two wipers where the gap is.I guess it could be higher but in the photo it's just the angle
