So let me just start by saying this all started by me driving this white beauty into a giant puddle. It was totally my stupid bad judgment. I thought i could take this giant puddle going under an i84 over pass in danbury,ct. A week goes by with my car rip and my mechanic stumbles upon a 01 midnight blue aero wagon 5spd. he calls me up to let me know and immediately im totally hyped up and pumped to test drive it. So after work i head over to his shop (Autotech in danbury,ct) and test drive the beast. Right after i drove it told him ill take it and a couple days later i have it.

So now that i have the new wagon im totally pumped to swap all my upgrades off the white wagon and put it on the aero wagon. I decided i was going to doo a darker look for this new saab. I also did a sweet cheap repair to the sides of the car and trunk roof. I painted the dings and dents with a flat black paint. and went with a flat black look for the grill to add to that.

The rki's are on now gunna get some shots of the car by my friend with her nikon cant wait. The car looks awesome now with the repainted bumper finished and everything fixed and replaced.

Neat-o.

What's wrong with the white car? (what damage did the puddle do?)

I'm guessing it got hydrolocked... 9-5 Intakes are in a kind of dangerous spot. Again, just a guess.

I would have just swapped the motor and called it a day, but either way... Glad to see you got another Saab. Also, I love modded wagons. I like white ones the most. :)

yeah i could of done all that, swap out the motor but my mech gave me a reasonnable price for the aero and it was a 5spd compared to the white one which was a auto and u cant beat the ventilated seats in the aero.:D:D

That midnight blue wagon is almost identical - down to the wheels and roof bars to my dad's 2001 Auto wagon. I love those wheels - they are great looking 16" wheels. (original winter wheel package) Got any more pics of the car after paint? Looks interesting. I've never really like the midnight blue on the wagon's - too much car for that color I think - so breaking it up a little will surely make it stand out more. Nice find!

That Intercooler needs to be mounted a little higher up - seems a little to close tot he ground.... What IC is that? ebay find?

How does one manage a roof damage like that on the hatch? Our Silver 01' has a dent dead center on the hatch top too - looks like it somehow hit the on-star antenea. I plan to mount a Roof spoiler over our dent :)

hey thanks man, yeah they do look great i still have them. theyd look great on a slammed og 9-3 some day maybe idk hahaha. dont kno how one manages to do that but my roof hatch had numerous dents now just one. the intercooler sits right under the bumper frame ive scraped it a million times with the white wagon but ive managed ok so far with the aero. yea i got it on ebay for like 50 bucks, and the pipes from godspeed.

yea idk how i got the dent on the roof of the hatch, whoever had the car before was a lil careless on the outside of the car luckily the interior is in mint shape.

Welcome to the dark side!

(Mine is Midnight, too...)

Sweet looking!

I'm sorta thinking paint the bumpers flat to match the rest of of it below the belt-line crease.

And this is coming from one who normally isn't a fan of flat black. But somehow this works. I like it!

That looks awesome! I am rarely a fan of 2 tone paint jobs, but it looks really good on that car. Great job and it's a very creative / cost effective way of getting the job done.

I wonder if the bumpers would look better flat black as well though (to go along with the rest of the body). Not sure.

Also, I had the same exact thing pop into my mind as Watkins... I think a silver stripe where the black and blue meet would look awesome.

I was thinking the same thing. If there was somehow a way to end the 2-tone on the corner of the bumpers, I think that would look the best...there is just no "line" to end it on.

Haha Is that the WestConn parking Garage?

My friends and I have used that garage for pictures before. It was also fun to drive through after putting long tube headers on my Friends 2000 Trans Am.

Oh Yea Nice Wagon!

hahaha yea it is. i live right next to the campus so i drove there real quick plus the blue lights everywhere set a pretty cool effect. yea its fun driving in this garage hearin the turbo wind up and the diverter valve go off that and the danbury fair mall garage is cool to drive in too.

but hey thanks man!

Looks great. I'm am counting myself lucky, a few years back I drove my 95 Wgn through alot of water almost up to the door jams down a street that was swamped and not closed to traffic. The guy in front of me didn't make it and flooded out. The only after effect was condensation buildup in my headlights that were changed under warrenty. Of course service asked if I had driven through lot of water. Innocently I said no.

Sad for your loss, but looks like you found a great replacement. Great look on the 2-tone and a silver stripe would be kickin'
