Ok, Delorean was able to point me in the correct direction for getting off the knee protector. (Saab books show pics of dash support beam bolts)

I now am presented with an uncomfortably positioned pin and 4 bolts that hold on the brake booster.

What is the trick?

Well how I do em is to use a set of Craftsman metric flex sockets, and a standard long 3/8's extension with a 3/8 ratchet. (I think it's the 13MM socket that you need) With this set up, and the knee bolster out of the way, you should have the booster out in 5 minutes. Aside from the 4 bolts, you also need to remember to un-do the pin that actuates the pedal. Changing a booster on a 900 is very straightforward in relation to most other cars.

Also note, some boosters have studs that may be too long for this (I think 87 & 88's), those cars MAY need to have a deep 13MM connected to a swivel & extension in order to remove them. The flex sockets are deeper than what you'd think but sometimes they don't cut it.
