I'm selling off my winter project convertible to make room in the garage for my new Viggen. I've been tackling the mechanical stuff first, the previous owner had used it as a daily driver before taking it off the road 2 years ago and been keeping up with maintenance and repairs such as new clutch, rebuilt trans, replaced main seal at a SAAB specialist in West Jersey (unfortunately he didn't get me the documentation before he moved). All I've got left to do on the priority list is the valve cover gasket and spark plugs, TBD this week. And the reverse gear selector needs adjusting, it will go into reverse without a problem once you know the trick. The motor runs well, some suspension noises, but turns lock to lock without too much protesting. Body and top are a bit rough (see pics) but I washed it today without any leaks. The paint is not as nice as it looks in the pictures; when I took them the car was still wet from the wash. Wax is but a distant memory for this neglected jewel. It sat for two years at a neighbors, and water leaked into the trunk and cabin, followed by mold and mildew in both. I cleaned the drains and so far I've driven in on the highway in the rain and washed it without noticeable moisture intrusion. I dried it out by running a dehumidifier under a car cover and did a lot of cleaning of surfaces with dilute bleach and other mold killers. There is a lingering odor but nothing like it was. The leather and top are also stained. The body also has a dent on the passenger rocker panel from a jacking incident (see pic). There is no radio.

If I can't sell it in the next couple of weeks it goes into storage an hour a way until spring. As improvements are made, the price will go up. I really liked the color combination when I saw it, and against my better judgment took it on as a project to keep my hand in over the winter. However, the opportunity to acquire a viggen came up, and I decided to move on as its becoming more and more painful to spend long periods of time under a hood.

New Oxygen Sensor installed today after check engine light started to light. No interest at all?

I think you'll have more luck in the next few months. Winter, as I'm sure you can figure, is a hard time to sell a convertible. You'll probably see more interest as tax returns and spring come our way. Good luck!

You're right, patience, patience. I guess I'll have to put it in storage when the 9-3SS gets out of the body shop (ice storm victim).
