First 9-5

My local dealership, Reinertsen Saab, sent me an email to announce they are the first to have a new 9-5 in stock. I was invited to stop by for a test drive.

Might have to check it out for curiosities sake.

Weird. I was there last night to pick up a part and the sales dude didn't mention that at all. Watch out for cock-blocking NESA fogies..... ;)

I knew you would mention that :)

The car was said to have landed TODAY.
I think Paul called my dad the other day as well, once i get out of the hospital i know where I'm going. Any word if they're going to get the C8?? I know they had a couple Panoz roadsters way back when they used to sell those.
Huu, I saw one at FC Kerbeck several weeks ago, though perhaps it was not "in-stock" available for sale, but a "show-off" car?

Could be. This one could be the first for sale, or it could just be they got it wrong lol.

This was their exact wording:

"We also learned today that this is the first new 9-5 to arrive in the country! "

Yeah, they are wrong.

That is my personal car (1999 9-5) parked next to a new 9-5, 2 weeks ago at SOC. Interesting comparison, eh?

seen in ft lauderdale a week ago or so.
Seen is one thing, but available for sale?
The one at SOC had manufacturer tags on it, not dealer plates. It did have a real VIN on it, though.

If it had a real VIN, should mean it COULD be sold at some point.

Not sure how to prove the validity of the email. Don't care that much either way lol.

good question. it was on the road and i didnt get to see if it had dealer plates or whatnot
I was under the impression that the first batch coming over were pre-orders and were all destined for customers, that they were filling orders placed end of last year before the dealers could order for their own stock?

Cool that you guys got a demo model though, no word from the dealers out here yet.

Best,
Drew
Ima stop down at International Saab and see if they have a new one.
You would think that by now some would be "for sale" or in for delivery for the pre-ordered customers... eh, they will get there.
I wish I could care enough to check it out further. But the msrp is so high that I can't see who's gonna bother with it over a bmw etc

Had it been a hb 9-3 or the new small 9-2 it would generate real interest
They just sent me this email, interesting:

Where's my FWD 4 Banger at?

Fred Beans has 2 In stock as well - 1 Fully Loaded Aero with Entertainment Package and 1 "Regular" 9-5 XWD 2.8T I was there the other day - they are just sitting outside in th lot.... why bother having one in the showroom, not like it's anything new or special - idiots. Oh - and they have had them for almost 2 weeks - not a single test drive!
9-5 xwd 2.8t? is this the same 2.8 in 93ss aeros that get vtuned?
