Porsche 944 Turbo S!

Hey guys,
I love my saab, but, I like this car more:

I'm contemplating buying it, not sure what I'd do with my saab at that point, the paint isn't great, otherwise i'd part and sell it.

The main draw for me is the way nicer interior than my s, and the 4c suspension, since i put like 25k a year on my car, i like having it stiff for spirited driving, but it kills me on long trips to NY, Boston and Montreal.

Any thoughts? I'd love to wait for the Black turbo to come out, but i think it'll be another 7 years before that's in my price range...

So sick. I say if you have the opportunity.. jump on it. AWD S60R > 9-3

they are pretty nice cars, IMO, if it were between that and an OG 9-3 or NG-900, the S60 would take it about 2 times over. If it were between that and a 9-5 aero/manual, or even an NG-9-3 aero, slightly harder choice especially if you are keeping it for a long time and do your own work. Just keep money in the bank for the occasional headgasket, as well as the timing belt replacement fund, keep on top of changing those, and it should be all good. I hear the later volvo 5 cyl's are a lot better than the early ones, and that's a very good thing, cause those are quite problematic when they get up in the mileage. it's no 240 motor, that's for sure. I'd also question how well that interior is going to hold up. with me, there would constantly be food falling into the shifter ball doo-dad, and from what I have seen of red leather interiors they hold up about as well as newspaper as far as color fade goes  I also hope volvo fixed that seat heater catching on fire thing the 850's like to do so often.

just pointing out potential maintenance issues ;) I do like the volvo R-models though, such a shame no one bought them, and they stopped making them.

The car is very nice, gets crappy gas mileage (25 if you have a tailwind on the highway) and the drivetrain isn't very smooth. The interior is one of the best until you get into the $80k+ range for cars. Seats are amazing. The black paint isn't super great on the Volvo's - hard to get it to look right. They tried to get too fancy with the metal flake.

uuh, I'd have to say the volvo interiors are right where most fords are. I have taken apart literally hundreds of 850's and S70's, when they get into the high mileages they are like a ford ranger. the plastics they use (and they are everywhere) are so cheap and thin, many items on junk cars rather than take apart, I'll just hit the plastic in the right place, and the whole thing will come popping right off, or breaks apart like an eggshell.

they may have pretty good seats on the R-models, and neat shifters, but do not think it is anywhere near the quality you'd get in even most CHEAP euro cars.
