Here's the scoop:
18x8 or 19x8
Any bolt pattern
Aluminum mono bloc construction for weight and strength.
Any wheel design we decide
Saab center caps
Weight 19-21 lbs depending on size
Made in the same factory as HRE wheels
6-8 weeks for production
$400 - $450 per wheel
50 sets minimum

We have an opportunity as a Saab community to get what we want - for those of us looking for a Reproduction Saab wheel in the 18 or 19" size. Benefit of this - once a design is chosen, we have have them drilled to fit ANYTHING as long as the offsets are compatible. Meaning - 4 lug for the old school, 5 lug for the current and even the NEW 5 lug of the new generation 9-5 can all be drilled upon order request.

example - the Anniversary Exposed Lug 9000 Aero Wheel;

We could order these (50 set minimum remember) in ANY wheel bolt pattern as mentioned in either an 18" or 19" wheel.

More example of OLD Saab wheels you could have in the 18" or 19" size: SAAB Wheels - a veritable panoply of aluminum

We are NOT limited to these remember - if Saab ever made it, we can clone it and make our own versions in a 18" or 19" wheel.

If there is enough interests - minimum of 50 sets of 4 - then the cost would be roughly $1800 a set - shipping to anywhere will be available. (International as well)
Price could be reduced if by some chance an order of 100 sets could be made. If we do have enough interests in 1 design - then a deposit would be required from each ordering party once we got to that point.

It doesn't have to be a dream - if we have enough people (50) who want the same wheel - they can be made!

some eye candy :)

I realize this - as the price is out of my hands and range personally - they are to be made on the same property as HRE wheels by the same quality and standards too mind you. If the interest is there - a heavier alloy could be used to keep the price down to a more logical range mind you - but this was the initial information I was FWD from a good friend who is leading this pursuit in bigger Saab wheels... I am the go-between and willing to help.

This is the primary feeler thread - just to gauge any interests. Everything is very rough in concept right now - but all is 100% doable. If weight isn't as critical as price - adjustments can be made.
With a minimum of 50 sets and likely buyers all going to same shows it isn't going to be unique in the end!
50 sets of wheels vs. hundred of thousands of Saab's in the US and Europe/Rest of World seems pretty rare to me. Plus the option to have them drilled for any Saab lug pattern makes it still pretty rare. I'm not getting into a debate - this is an opportunity. Everyone always wants a certain wheel in a bigger size - well, here's your chance to step up and make it happen. This has been placed on 3 Saab forums so far - worldwide. We know that the ONLY way to get this to happen is to locate 50 buyers. Theoretically I already have 1 waiting on 49 more. If it comes down to it - I may even step up depending on the wheel choice. This is wide open for selection as of now, so if your are so fortunate to have the money to spend - then so be it. Remember, used things sell for much less. You could one day own a set of w/e gets made if it happens and be able to buy them a few years down the road for much much less money.

If this was an Audi, BMW or other upscale car forum, aka "places where people are dumb enough to spend 4-5k on rims," your 50 buyer/custom wheel idea might actually happen, but I seriously doubt that there will be 50 people who will be eager to pony up $1800+ for custom wheels. I can see it for brand new, $30k+ cars, but not for the 5-15k Saabs most of us have here. If you could get exposure across the country, or raise awareness at SOC or other events, the 50 buyer threshold could probably be met in time, but probably not worth your effort or anybody's personal gain.
Isn't 18-19 lb wheels pretty light for 18" wheels? What would the price be for ~24-26 lb wheels?
18-19lbs at that size is nuts, but I don't like wheels that big.

Yes - VERY light - thus the heavy price ;) I will inquire on the less priced heavier wheel options. I too do not like anything larger then 17" personally.
18" Snowflakes drilled to fit my C900 would be balls out awesome.

There are 18" RK1 out there. BBS made the RK, Saab used it as a factory option, but Saab never made an RK1.

Boom RK 029.
18 bones for a set of custom wheels isn't that bad.

....the bad part is that $1,800 is still a lot of money, especially in this economy. I'll make my stand out in a crowd, rattlecan-style before I dropped that much on wheels.

I'd love to see what comes of this though; always had a chubber for the Ecosport 17" wheels.

well yes.... i understand that but the way the Saab ones look are awesome! they have a nice lip and are 8 inches wide. just if those exact same rims were 18". we actually have the 18" RK's but for the 5X112 pattern. only 7.5" wide and not as big of a lip.
So this is 50 sets of one style wheel and one bolt pattern?

Now that car right there is sexy. ;)
With $1,800 couldn't you call BBS and have them bore a 5x110 bolt pattern with appropriate center bore into any number of the wheels they make in custom sizes?

To be clear, would all 50 have to be the exact same bolt pattern, centerbore and offset?
