i replaced the fuel pump in my 97 900 turbo and the battery also went dead trying to start the car. after replacement the car starts and idles great but will not rev up. fuel pressue is good but the weird thing is that the tail lights do not work neither do the brake lights, the turn signals are constantly on but not flashing and the rear fog light indicator is on the dash. if i put remote 12v to the pump and pull the relay under the dash for the alarm system i believe) EVERYTHING works correctly but has a fault producing an engine light. Everything worked on the car before fuel pump replacement and dead battery. i also got the car to stay running with the key removed when i pressed the rear fog light button.

I had a similar issue with my car and it turned out to be the orange relay in the engine compartment. The relay controls high beam low beam and all sorts of other weird stuff. It started with one low beam coming on but not he other. The high beams would work though. Then other lights would stay on or off. I may be mistaken, the relay is over one hundred dollars new. Someone on here I forget who sent me one for like 12 dollars. I replaced it, and everything worked fine. Again I may be wrong, but it couldn't hurt to check it out.
