DIY Clear Corner Fail

I got my car back from the shop and everything looked great. I went straight to trying to do the clear corner mod. First problem, the allen bolt thing holding the corner lens to the headlight was stripped on the drivers side... Couldn't really do anything so i checked the passengers side. It was fine so i went on doing the clear corner mod. I couldn't get it to budge so i aimed the screw driver on the part where the orange piece is glued onto the lens. I did a light tap with a hammer on the bottom of the screw driver to budge it. The result was I punctured the lens... it now has a small hole... on top of that, I'm missing the LH side bottom grille so i just took off the other one so I don't look like an idiot. Also, the bottom black liner for my RH corner lens is not there(I don't think I ever had one), so the corner lens wobbles slightly. And now I have one clear corner and one orange. One headlight is clear and one is fogged up/dirty... These little things bother me so much! Should I just leave the car alone... lol

You don't have the torx screw driver that comes with the car next to the spare tire? If you don't I highly recommend some torx screw drivers. You won't regret it. You can nearly take the whole car apart with the screw driver in the trunk. ;-)

I was reading your thread and thought, why havn't I done this yet?

So I did.

Done. Both came out easy. They came off the car when it was about 30* F out.

Good luck with your and thanks for the inspiration.

Edit: I broke an inside tab while reinstalling. Doesn't seem to matter.

Also replaced the dim running lights in the head lights. Awesome.

I just did mine on my lunch break yesterday... although I would prefer to have smoked covers for my headlights and tail lights, I can't seem to find any. Maybe I just don't know where to look.

I've only had my ng for a little over a week (it's my first Saab ever) and I'm already obsessed!

My wife does not think it's cute.

Just cleared the corners, makes a noticeable difference, put them in the oven at 170, lowest the oven would go, for 10 minutes, covered a long flathead screwdriver with some duct tape and they popped right out. Takes some time to cut them up, but you can't go wrong here if you have a silver or black car.
