So i know how to check for spark on a Distributor car, but how do I test to see if im getting spark with a DI?

I generally crank the car, then wait a second to see if you can hear the "buzz" of the DI during its burn off mode. You can turn the DI over, throw 4 plugs in it and crank the car over, watch for spark at the plug. Don't hang onto the DI, and remember: it will do the burn off after a few seconds and that"ll give you a jolt

IF checking for DI spark you MUST ground all 4 plugs adequately.
Not doing so will risk the Unit.. remember it's a $425 part

You need to do this:

We just made one at the shop from little crimp-on clamps from radio shack and some wire, then you can set the DI on the cam cover, have someone crank it over and watch the light show.

One of the SAAB service bullitins specifically says that the cassette should be mounted to that the plugs point down (like they are when mounted in the car) because the insulating oil for the coils can drain away and overheat the cassette if you run it for very long, but it's hard to get it plugged into the connector and held like that.
