Alright, finally video of Dave's 9-5 Aero on the road ;) I got some video of it at SOC and although it's not perfect, it's a hell of a lot better than any other footage around.

Make sure you watch it in High Quality.

I remember at Detroit he was giving rides to a few people on the freeway and you could distinctly hear the car every time is was anywhere near the hotel!

Wicked awesome car. Probably the fasted or one of the fastest cars I've ever ridden in!

The problem with dumping a wg into the atmosphere like that is the cops also hear it 1/4+ mi away.....ask me how I know :( I do like the sound of it (my SPG is setup that way) but at times I wish I would of made the wg dump into the exh. When I have to redo my SPG's exh next time, I am going to try it dumping into the exh to quiet things down a bit.

Ya, lucky for me that cop in the left lane didn't hear it when I was merging on Rt 2. Good thing Dave has a V1 too.

Traction isnt much of an issue. In my car I just have one hell of a time in first gear but beyond that you just gotta work the throttle properly. They really do handle much better on the street at this high level of power than people let on.

Its actually very easy to drive and much more streetable then something like a stage 4 ng900/9-3. The power doesn't really come on until almost 3000rpm, so driving normally around town is easy. It also doesn't have that tendency to want to put you into a wall like a ng/9-3 would, instead it just spins em in a straight line. Just shows you how much better the 9-5 chassis is then the ng/9-3.

I'll admit, I was surprised. Wasn't what I expected (in a good way).
The 9000 behaves the same way. My car doesnt have an uncontrollable amount of torque steer, and i have almost 100hp and 100tq on him it looks like. Almost.

Amen to that.

I would love a 500hp 9-5 Wagon for that reason. I feel like it probably handles the power better than a 350hp OG9-3.

Dave got first with high 4's, Paul's red-bull did 415-425 I think, to get second. Third was much lower as they only counted fully registered cars that also paid for the dyno.

Try driving just about any car with 1 hand at 12 o'clock or at both hands 12 & 3 & see how darty it makes the car behave. Those hand positions would exagerate the wheel movements ....... It's about impossible to controll a car properly like that....

9 & 3 is the proper position :)

When we were watching his car on the dyno, we all commented that at idle its actually much quieter than most of our cars, which make a lot less power. Awesome.

yeah my stock 9-5 wagon handled better than my 9-3 with steerin rack brace/clamp, poly bushings on everything, rear ARB upgrade, strut bar upgrade, shocks, springs, etc etc

great platform to tune with that 2.3T and done up like Dave's a wicked sleepah ;)

I agree on the crazyness of the overpowered 9-3 platform.

Jen had to relearn to drive out 9-3 auto trans because of the tendancy to shoot into other lanes when maching the gas. She loves it, but its a wild ride.

My 9000 on the other hand...well, I;m just glad the bolted the steering rack to the correct place.

I will just keep adding the bhp to mine, since i feel that the current 600+Nm/500+ is not enough for the std viggen chassis ;) and for my use it handles just fine and I do not and have not planned to drive track with it.

After having the LSD for a couple weeks, this car should have had it at STOCK power levels.

I cannot believe it's not high up on your to-do list. I guess with the type of driving you do, the flying mile events, that initial traction is not THAT important compared to 1/4 mile where the launch is most of the battle.
