I took my 2001 9-3 into the shop the other day because i'd finally had enough of the steering vibration and squeeking from my front passenger side while driving . It got really bad when i put the winter wheels on. I was told I needed a new cv joint assembly/full kit w/ rod, etc, my wheel bearing was bad, and that my hub was cracked. He said it would take about 2.5 hrs at 60 an hour plus parts to replace. I can not bring him the parts though as their shop has a rule,etc... or the rate increases dramatically. They did the diognosis for free however since it was through a friend of a friend. Anyway, what should this cost time/money wise?

parts break down they charged me
80 for the wheel bearing and clip
160 for the cv assembly
180 for the hub

I think I was taken a bit. What's a reasonable price for these parts included shop markup. I know the internet is far cheaper

I think the bolts were put on too tight or something by another shop which cracked the hub. He went to take them off for the repair and three broke/snapped.
