Cup holder

Lost without a cup holder in the new DD blue vert. Didn't want to make any major permanent install like in my other cars or do any drilling. Came up with this. Clips on nice and tight and is surprisingly sturdy. I can also pop it off easily. Still needs paint, but der'y go.

Very nice. Let me know when you set a price to purchase one.
interesting concept...I'm thinking a bike water bottle cage and a little ingenuity would produce a similar product. Might have to email one of those chinese companies who make the water bottle cages.
does it fold and store in the ash tray? A real Saab cup holder would do that :)

Seriously neat tho - good job! Can it hold a Big Gulp?
No, it don't fold up. The ones I made for my other c900s do though. :)

This was just a quickie job to get me by. It took less than a hour to put it together from aluminum stock from the hardware store and a piece of wood. I made it big enough to hold a 20oz bottle of soda--my beverage of choice.:)
Good fab job Ric.

That makes me wonder if something couldn't be modified to fold and fit in the ashtray though.
Wow, very nice fab job man. Any chance of getting a diy or some instructions? Something like this would kick ass for the NG900s considering the dash cupholder from the 9-3 slops stuff all over my stereo and the armrest option is great for being in the way while shifting...

I've installed the fold-up type of RV drink holders mounted just forward of the door grab bar on several NG900's.
They're like $7 at RV supply places and pretty adjustable.
Duct Tape !

this is a lot more elegant then what i came up with ,a roll of duct tape on the floor between my feet .the side of the roll sticks to the carpet.i have never had a spill and reaching for it seems natural in a 900, no different then reaching for the key.its amazing how well it works. There is no end in the versatility of Duct tape.
It never ceases to amaze me as to one's inspiration. I'm so glad you chose to "stick with it" Ric! ;)

Still waiting to hear of your "product launch" plans.
Everything is fairly cheap and easy to make except the ring which takes a custom jig, heat, and tedious patience. I'm trying to find a large piece of aluminum pipe that I can just cut, or possibly may try using PVC. If I can't reduce the time it takes to make them, it won't be worth my time for what I could potentially sell them for. Nobody is paying $50 for a hand-made cup holder, no matter how well it works.
Here, Here! I raise my cup to you! ;)
