Crazy Electrical/No Start Problem

Hey guys. I don't normally post here; I do lurk quite frequently though. I'm throwing myself at the mercy of any help you guys can offer!
Alright guys, I've got a wild one this time. I have FINNALY got my C900 in a state where it can be driven, heck I just put insurance on it . I will be getting the 10 day temp registration tomorow, and have 10 days to have it inspected. Here is the issue:
It all began with my windsheild wipers. They would stay on as longas the car was on, would not shut off. Here are the different scenarios:

Sometimes I turn the key and the colant temp gauge goes all the way up, as high as it can go; and it wont stop. Nothing inside the cabin electrical works. That means radio, cabin fan; and outside lights do not work.
While doing the above issue, the fuel pump stays on and the speed varies. It sometimes goes very fast; like it sounds like its going to burn out.
Most recently, it had the battery light on. When I shut the car off, and tried to restart it cranked very slowly as if the battery magically instantly died; and all of the dash lights were turning on and off by themselves.
Things I checked. Grounds on the radiator crossmember, head, and flywheel ground. I swapped the ignition lock relay.
I have NO IDEA what this could be. I suppose it COULD be an ignition switch; but this sounds far different. I do have an extra switch. Does anyone know what's going on? I need to figure this out by tomorow so I can get inspection done.

Please help!
Tom

Is it and 85? Those wiring harnesses were made out of corn starch I believe.
Any blown fuses anywhere? Sounds like the battery power is partially not getting places. Do check for solid battery + switched power at the ignition switch and go from there.
I also would start with cleaning all grounds, starting with the battery cables, and there are grounds in the dash, and even in the rear tail lights.

After that I would try a fresh battery and then check the voltage regulator (VR) attached to the alternator.
Especially check the ground at the alternator itself. Do you get a battery light with key on, engine off?

Also check all the ground/earth connections. The key ones are in the engine bay (behind radiator on battery side and the one for the alternator), in the dash (on the big bar joining the two a-pillars together) and in the boot (under the false floor).

There are others but they're the most important ones.

Craig.
Thanks alot guys! I am having some funky light and flasher issues too, so I am going to check out the ground in the hatch, I hear these fail very often. I havn't had the no-start issue again however, I swapped all relays and ignition switch and all seems to be much better, however now my flashers don't work, they just stay on constantly; and swapping the relay did not help.
Thanks again for all the info guys,
Tom
